英文摘要 | The effect of differential effect of dietary protein sources on the growth and the immune responsiveness of weaned pigs has been investigated by measuring the hemagglutinating antibody reaction and phytohemagglutinin skin response. Dietary treatments included soybean meal, soybean meal with fish meal, or skim milk, or both as the protein sources in the diet. All diets were isoenergetic and isonitrogenic, and formulated to meet or exceed the National Research Council (1979) guidelines for all nutrients. Eighty pigs, housed four per pen, were fed the various diets from 56 weeks to 11 weeks of age. During the 7-week test, daily gain and feed intake were greater for pigs diets containing fish meal or skim milk, or both than for pigs fed the soybean meal as sole protein source. The humoral immune response, induced by intravenous injection of the antigens with adjuvants and monitored by hemagglutination to sheep red blood cells, was not significantly different among dietary treatments at various sampling days except in the pigs fed a diet with soybean meal and fish meal at 3、15 and 25days after injection. The combination of soybean meal with fish meal or skim milk resulted in a tendency of improvement in hemagglutination titers. The cell-mediated immunity as measured by the chronological skin response to phytohemagglutinin was not significantly different among dietary treatments, but there was a higher trend in swelling reactions for diets with animal protein sources. |
