| 英文摘要 | While tourism brings unlimited business opportunities to countries worldwide and has been dubbed a "smokeless industry" due to its lower pollution levels compared to manufacturing industries, the environmental pollution caused by tourism exceeds common perception. Consequently, ecotourism and low-carbon tourism have become crucial topics of discussion in international forums and academic circles. Tourists themselves constitute a vital link in this chain - without proper environmental knowledge and attitudes, related policies cannot be effectively implemented. In addressing this issue, environmental education plays a crucial role. To develop environmental ethics among its population, Taiwan promotes environmental education across different school age groups. The Nine-Year Integrated Curriculum identifies environmental education as a key issue, aiming to cultivate proper environmental knowledge and attitudes among teachers and students. This study targeted junior high school teachers in Taiwan, employing non-random and convenient sampling surveys through an online questionnaire. The findings revealed that over 60% of the surveyed teachers held master's degrees or higher. Beyond their advanced educational qualifications, they regularly participated in environmental education training courses at their schools. Consequently, they demonstrated high levels of recognition and awareness regarding environmental issues such as fossil fuels, hillside development, and marine ecological crises, as well as environmental behaviors of personal ecological management. However, they exhibited lower levels of awareness concerning specialized topics such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Taiwan's 2050 net-zero emissions target, and CO_2 emissions from tourism transportation. Therefore, it is imperative to actively promote participation in environmental education and low-carbon tourism-related training courses to enhance teachers' environmental knowledge, which can then be integrated into their curriculum and conveyed to students and parents. The conclusions of this study can serve as a reference for schools and relevant institutions in implementing low-carbon tourism initiatives and environmental education programs. |
