| 英文摘要 | As Taiwan enters a super-aged society, the issue of sarcopenia—age-related loss of muscle mass and strength—has become increasingly serious, posing a critical challenge in public health and elderly care. Sarcopenia is highly associated with falls, fractures, functional disability, hospitalization, and mortality. It also significantly reduces the quality of life and independence of older adults, while increasing the caregiving burden on families and society. In recent years, resistance training has been widely recognized as an effective non-pharmacological intervention for preventing and improving sarcopenia. Through scientifically based, progressive, and individualized training programs, resistance training can significantly enhance muscle mass, strength, balance, and functional performance in older adults. It also contributes to slowing the aging process and reducing chronic inflammation. Moreover, integrating balance training, aerobic exercise, and nutritional supplementation can further enhance overall effectiveness, especially for older adults with severe sarcopenia or sarcopenic obesity. This study explores the application and effectiveness of resistance training in mitigating sarcopenia among the elderly, outlining key training principles, practical recommendations, and evaluation indicators. It calls on older adults to establish regular exercise habits, encourages caregivers to provide a safe and supportive environment, and urges communities and policymakers to promote professional interventions and health education. Resistance training is not only a vital strategy for improving individual health, but also a practical approach in aging societies to delay frailty, reduce caregiving burdens, and enhance the quality of life in older age. |
