| 英文摘要 | The integration of Virtual Reality (VR) technology into scenario-based simulation teaching is an emerging trend in medical education. In terms of patient safety and care quality as the top priorities, learners can repeatedly practice their skills in virtual clinical scenarios. The objective of this study examined the subjective experiences of clinical medical professionals by applying an immersive VR system for chest drainage skill training. This qualitative research adopted the focus group methodology by recruiting six clinical medical professionals (including two physicians, two nurse practitioners, and two nursing staff) to apply an immersive VR system developed by the research team for chest drainage skill training purpose. The participants’ experiences were investigated through an interview to understand their opinion and feelings subjectively. The results indicate that the participants’ feelings can be categorized into five themes, namely virtual anxiety, beginner’s aid, lack sense of reality, infinite repetition, and staying with the virtual. For future applications, the VR-based skill instruction system is not intended as a substitute to the traditional skill instruction. Instead, it serves as a supplementary tool for self-learning, so the learners can accumulate experiences in a safe environment. Further research shall enhance the user’s sense of physical presence and interactive function of the system, especially in terms of sensory feedback and sense enhancement. So that the system can become a substantial supplementary teaching and learning material for skill teaching. |
