| 中文摘要 | 本研究旨在透過蒐集台灣某科技大學大學 307 名非英語系學生對特殊用途 英文(ESP)的意見或態度來調查他們的英語學習需求。調查所用的工具是基於文 獻回顧的問卷。本研究的结果顯示:(1)特殊用途英文教學應注重溝通技能;(2)特 殊用途英文教師應加强其英語教學能力和學科内容知識;(3)提高學習動機也是 特殊用途英文課程成功的關鍵因素之一;(4)特殊用途英文教師必須保持靈活性, 並始終參與持續的特殊用途英文教學發展;(5)特殊用途英文教師最好與相關特 殊用途英文領域的專家或專業人士合作。由於每個學生的學習風格不同,教師不 能只透過考試成績來評估學生;但是,透過這項研究,我們也可以更完善地支持 學生學習,幫助他們找到自己的學習方法、風格或習慣。 |
| 英文摘要 | This study aims to investigate the English learning needs of 307 non-English major students at a university of science and technology in Taiwan by collecting their opinions or attitudes towards English for Special Purposes (ESP). The instrument used in the survey was a questionnaire based on literature review. The results of this study show that: (1) ESP instructors or Professors should focus on communication skills; (2) ESP instructors or Professors should strengthen their English teaching capabilities and the content knowledge of their specialized fields ; (3) Improving learning motivation is also the key to success of ESP courses; (4) ESP instructors or Professors must maintain flexibility and always participate in the continuous development of ESP instruction; (5) ESP instructors or Professors are best to cooperate with specialized experts or professionals in the field of ESP. Since every student has a different learning style, teachers cannot evaluate their students only by their test scores; however, through this research, we can also better support students' learning and help them find their own learning methods, styles or habits. |
