| 英文摘要 | How should we build the common knowledge of calligraphy in today’s world? This essay begins the quest through analyzing the exhibition “What If Attitudes Became Letters? (Writing— Correspondence— Context— Gender—Meme)” curated by Coexist Exhibition at Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center. By adopting “exhibition” and “letters” as the means, this essay delves into the matter of display in exhibitions of “contemporary calligraphy.” Firstly, the essay categorizes all the displayed items according to their correlations. Through structuralizing the significance of individual artwork, the essay reexamines “the definition of letters.” The analysis herein starts with the exhibition space and the overall display setting. From there, the essay poses questions concerning the utilization of space in an exhibition, and its communications with the viewers. Here, the purpose of this essay not only lies in annotating the exhibition “What If Attitudes Became Letters? (Writing—Correspondence—Context—Gender—Meme),” but also in unveiling the researcher’s “eventized” train of thoughts through writing. |
