英文摘要 | Backgrounds: Since the end of 2019, the global outbreak of COVID-19 has led to increased social isolation, which in turn has heightened anxiety and depression, adversely affecting the long-term health of adolescents. Goal: To explore the psychological health of adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated factors. Method: A cross-sectional study was used, and an online survey was conducted on 950 adolescents aged 12-18 from July 8 to October 19, 2022. The research tools consisted demographic information, Mental Health Inventory-5, Covid-19 Adolescent Symptom & Psychological Experience Questionnaire, UCLA Three-Item Loneliness Scale and Brief Resilience Scale. Results: Although the adolescents exhibited adequate psychological health with moderate resilience during the pandemic, around twenty to fifty percent of them were nervous, frustrated, and down. After the COVID-19 outbreak, their anxiety and stress level increased. Particularly, the female adolescents and senior high school students exhibited more negative conditions in some of the aspects of psychological health. Resilience is positively correlated with psychological health, whereas loneliness is negatively correlated with resilience and psychological health. Conclusion/Practical Implications: Adolescents exhibited problems such as nervousness, low mood, anxiety, and stress, and female adolescents and senior high school students were more prone to negative psychological health conditions than other adolescents. Future psychological intervention programs must take into account the factors of gender and age in enhancing the psychological health of adolescents. |
