| 英文摘要 | This exploratory study uses a narrative literature review and rational argument to examine the feasibility of a bilingual international education program at sea, design an example course to illustrate its utility, evaluate this proposed approach through critical reflection, and provide several revelations for educational policymakers, educators, and researchers. The research results offer several reasons to justify this proposal: Education at sea with bilingual instruction, such as content and language integrated learning (CLIL), can cultivate students' English competence and subject knowledge; overseas travel and learning will foster students' international perspectives and broaden their worldview, increasing their global citizenship; and a joyful learning journey at sea will motivate students' active learning engagement. The example course, "Bilingual International Education (IE) Program at Sea for Upper Grades in Elementary School," has been created to demonstrate a clear image of this proposal, and the advantages, disadvantages, and evaluation have been considered as well. In conclusion, four suggestions are as follows: Bilingual instruction could be an essential tool for education at sea, the bilingual IE program at sea is an innovative learning approach, this program could be designed as a flexible learning approach, and it aligns with social progress. Three further studies have been suggested as well. |
