中文摘要 | 自2011 年公布中小學國際教育白皮書,臺灣政府積極推動國際 教育的決心。本文於檢視白皮書目標之後,提出值得進一步討論的三 個問題,藉以澄清國際教育相關概念。首先是全球教育與國際教育的 問題,研究發現國際教育內涵逐步增加,以致於與全球教育在內涵上 有所重疊,但兩者的目的有所不同。前者在於了解其他國家,以獲取 國家與國際共同之利益;後者在於強化全球公民對於地球的責任感。 至於國際教育與多元文化教育之問題,國際教育與多元文化教育,兩 者目標有所不同,且前者所理解的對象為他國,後者為國內的多元種 族。最後,以上三者共同之處皆在跨越文化疆界,已達成文化交流。 在現今流動的現代裡,已經無法漠視他者文化的存在,需要透過教育 建構跨界的心靈。因此,此三者正是建構下一代跨界心靈之重要工 程。 |
英文摘要 | Since 2011, with the White Paper on International Education for Primary and Secondary Schools, Taiwan has demonstrated the determination to actively promote international education. After examining the aims of the White Paper, three issues worthy of further discussion are highlighted in this paper in order to clarify the related concepts of international education. First, the study discovers that international education connotation has gradually increased and overlapped with global education connotation despite the difference of their aims. While international education aims at learning about other countries to obtain national and international interest, global education aims at arousing the awareness of global citizenship and at strengthening the sense of responsibility. Second, despite some difference international education and multicultural education both cross cultural borders. So, in the final part, the paper maintains that international education, global education and multicultural education have made the same attempt to cross cultural borders. In the modern interchangeable times, education has to take into account the presence of other cultures as well as the fostering of a cross-border mind. In sum, the three abovementioned issues of education should be taken into consideration for a social engineering of a cross-border mind of the next generation. |
