| 英文摘要 | Growth performance of animal is always of great concern in livestock industry. It directly influences marketing age and the feeding cost of animals. Marker-assisted selection (MAS) is a powerful tool with accuracy and efficiency. Seeking and validating genetic markers of target traits are crucial for establishing a MAS system. The objective of this study was to determine whether there is evidence for association of growth traits and body conformation measurements in Nubian goats in Taiwan with markers flanking specific chromosome regions, and to identify chromosomal regions associated with various growth traits. Fifteen microsatellite markers were used for genotyping 109 Nubian goats, and further analyzed their relationships with body weight and average daily gain (ADG) at birth, weaning, and 6 month of age, respectively. The body conformation measurements including body length, withers height, and chest girth at weaning and 6 month of age were also analyzed. Quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis in the candidate intervals was conducted using the least squared regression interval mapping approach. A total number of 11 putative QTL at chromosome-wide significance level were detected on chromosome 2, 3, 5, 7, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20, 21, and 23 . Six putative QTL were identified for body weight at different ages on Capra hircus chromosome (CHI) 5, 13, 14, 18, 20, and 23. And 6 putative QTL were identified for ADG at different ages on CHI 3, 5, 14 , 15, 18, and 20. With regard to the body conformation measurements, 6 putative QTL were identified for body length at different ages on CHI 2, 5, 14, 18, 20, and 21 ; seven putative QTL were identified for withers height at different ages on CHI 3, 5, 7, 15, 18, 20, and 21 ; three putative QTL were identified for chest girth at different ages on CHI 7, 14, and 18. Some of these QTL correspond to chromosomes where QTL associated with body weight, ADG, and body conformation measurement traits have been identified in other closely related species such as sheep and cattle. These chromosomal segments may contain candidate genes that potentially influence body weight, ADG, and body conformation measurements in Nubian goats. |
