英文摘要 | To study the effect of pre-harvest water management on the deterioration in 'Ponkan' mandarin during storage, irrigation was ceased 56, 28, 14, 7 and 3 days prior to harvest for two consecutive years. Fruit harvested from trees subjected to cessation of water supply 3 days prior to harvest showed greater weight loss and a greater decrease in the rate of green button than those picked from trees subjected to cessation of water supply 56 days prior to harvest for the two years. The former also displayed a higher percentage of peel puffing in 2005. In addition, fruits from all the groups stopping the supply of water too close to harvesting exhibited a higher decay percentage compared with fruits treated with withholding water for 28 days before harvesting in 2006. |
