中文摘要 | 本研究通過結構方程模型分析,測試澳門理工學院管理專業本科生的英語學習模式,利用課堂經驗問卷、學習方法問卷、課外英語使用問卷對287名學生進行了調查,測試學習方法、課堂經驗、課外英語使用、考試成績及學生滿意度等十個變量。結構方程模型分析發現(1)本研究的測試模型符合Biggs[1]的學習理論模型;(2)正如作者以前對澳科大學生進行的研究結果一樣[2],課外英語使用對深層學習方法及英語考試成績產生正值效應;(3)表面學習方法、不恰當工作量及評核對英語考試成績產生負值效應;(4)恰當工作量、清晰目標等課堂經驗變量對學生滿意度產生直接正值效應。基於上述結果,本研究得出結論:由於英語主要在澳門的職場使用,教師應該確保英語學科工作量與本科課程及職場要求一致,以滿足學生的需要。 |
英文摘要 | This study took a structural equation modelling (SEM) approach to test the English learning pattern of business undergraduates studying at the Macao Polytechnic Institute. A questionnaire adapted from the Course Experience Questionnaire, the Study Process Questionnaire and the Out-of-Class English Use Questionnaire was administered with 287 students, testing 10 variables including learning approaches, course experience, out-of-class English use, exam grade and student satisfaction. Results of SEM analysis showed that (1) the hypothesized model fitted the theoretical learning model proposed by Biggs[1]; (2) similar to the author's previous study with MUST students[2], out-of-class English use had a positive effect on deep learning approach and English grade; (3) surface learning approach, inappropriate assessment and workload had negative effects on English grade; and (4) course experience variables such as appropriate workload and clear goal had direct effects on student satisfaction. Based on the findings, it was concluded that in regions like Macao, where English is used mainly in the workplace, it is important for teachers to ensure that the workload of an English course appropriately aligns with the objectives of an academic programme and demands of the job market, satisfying the needs of their students. |
