While Chinese medicine is widely used in daily life, the public may not be familiar with the differences between traditional Chinese medicine and scientific Chinese medicine; they may also be unaware of important medicine safety concepts. As a result, many questions remain to be answered and clarified. This project aims to help the public understand medicine safety about traditional Chinese medicine and to provide them with useful and up-to-date information. The project invited professional practitioners in Chinese medicine and pharmacy and research institutes in joint efforts to initiate a series of community education and training workshops on medicine safety about Chinese medicine and pharmacy. They include: 1. Promotion of instructive materials: providing instructive materials on medicine safety of Chinese medicine and pharmacy in multimedia form, so as to make them available to the remote areas and the general public simultaneously and in entirety. Digital files are accessible from the Podcasting My Campus website of I-Shou University at http://podcast.isu.edu.tw/ for downloads or online access. 2. Conversation with professional practitioners (three sessions): inviting senior Chinese medicine and pharmacy practitioners from the Committee on Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy to participate in conversation with the public, to achieve optimal community resources allocation.
