中文摘要 | 本研究以台灣111位年齡介於45〜85歲,分別是高齡前期、高齡初期、高齡中期,並且具備社群媒體使用經驗之中高齡者為對象,以便利抽樣調查其人格特質,生活滿意度對於社群媒體使用之關係。了解中高齡者使用社群媒體的原因、強度,以及其使用社群媒體的行為、動機與態度的影響因素。研究統計以描述性統計,卡方相關係數,ANOVA和迴歸等統計方法,驗證變項之間的相關與推測關係。研究結果顯示約有三分之一中高齡者為重度使用者(36.0%),且有五成以上(51.4%)為中度使用者,調查結果多數的中高齡者平均使用社群媒體為四年,每天使用達30分鐘,並在社交媒體上平均擁有50位好友。顯示可預期中高齡使用者對社群媒體的高接受度,並且將有愈來愈多的中高齡族群使用社群媒體進行社群交流。其中,高開放性人格特質與低生活滿意度之中高齡者,對社群媒體的接受度與使用度最高,重度使用者具備高開放性與盡責性人格特質,但屬於低生活滿意度者;而輕度使用者則具備低外向性、低親和性與低開放性,且有較高的生活滿意度。開放性人格特質與生活滿意度兩項可作為預測中高齡者使用社群媒體強度的變項。 |
英文摘要 | This article investigated factors associated with the use of social media by Taiwanese adults ranging in age from 45 to 85. While it has previously been noted that personality traits and life satisfaction influence the use of social media, research has not focused on older adults. The result will indicate what trigger older adults to communicate by social media and examine the factors affecting the behavior, motivation and attitudes of older adults using social media, especially the intensity of social media use are being considered. A descriptive analysis was undertaken of the personality traits of 111 older Taiwanese adults. Descriptive statistics, a chi-square correlation coefficient, ANOVA and logistic regression were used in order to establish any relationships with the use of social media. This study found that older Taiwanese adults have used social media for over four years, use about 30 minutes a day, and have fewer than 50 friends on social media. In this study, over one third (36.0%) of older adults are heavy users, and half (51.4%) are medium users. It is reasonable to assume that older adults generally connect to their social groups through social media. The results indicate that, potentially, older adults will increasingly socialize by means of social media. Older adults who score high on the trait of openness and low on life satisfaction have the tendency to be heavy users of social media. Heavy users have higher Openness and Conscientiousness, but lower life satisfaction. Lighter users have lower Extroversion, Agreeableness and Openness, but higher life satisfaction. Openness and life satisfaction can be predictors of older adults' intensity of social media use. |
