英文摘要 | In recent years, accumulation of harmful heavy metals like mercury in the soil, has become one of the major toxic metal contamination in the farm land. Two major categories of mercury, organic mercury and inorganic mercury, may affect crops with mercury accumulation. To understand the absorption of mercury and methyl mercury by leaf vegetables, and the scope of plants’ injuries, the Field-mustard, Ching-geeng and Pak-choi were tested by the way of hydroponic cultivation and soil cultivation. Mercury (0-0.2 pg/mL) and methyl mercury (0-0.2 pg/mL) in medium of hydroponic cultivation and mercury (0-1 pg/g), methyl mercury (0-1 μg/g) in soil cultivation were used for 30-day cultivation. Seed germination tests showed that the mercury and methyl mercury hindered Field-mustard, Ching-geeng and Pak-choi seed germination. The germination rate of seeds decreased to 87-94% and 66-81% by 0.1 pg/mL of mercury and methyl mercury, respectively. Higher mercury and methyl mercury concentrations severely inhibited the growth of plants in the experiment, while the methyl mercury groups caused more damage. The roots and leaves had higher total mercury concentrations in tested methyl mercury groups than in mercury groups. Soil cultivation groups had higher methyl mercury absorption than hydroponic cultivation. In methyl mercury trials, we found that the accumulated mercury did not transform into methyl mercury. |
