英文摘要 | Based upon the narrative of the Book of Genesis, Pope John Paul II thinks that both man and woman are created in God's image and are equal. The relationship between man and woman is the ”unity of the two” and ”one for the other”. It means that man and woman are called to live in a communion of love and are to be of mutual help. However, because of ”the Fall of Man, ” human beings destroyed the original relationship of harmony between one and oneself, between oneself and others, between oneself and nature, and between oneself and God. The Book of Genesis also mentions a prophecy of the victory over evil. Moreover, the Book of Leviticus reminds the Israelites they should be kind to the alien as this is how God treats the alien. In the Gospel, Jesus confirmed that each woman has from the very beginning inherited her dignity as a human being. He remembered this dignity, renewed it, and made it a part of the evangelical and salvific economy. Jesus' childhood was as an alien in the land of Egypt. He was crucified outside of Jerusalem. Thus, he became an alien at the highpoint of his life. When Jesus was raised up, he welcomed human beings to return home where everyone's dignity is recognized. Pope John Paul II reminds Christians that they are pilgrims on a journey. Those countries that accept migrant workers should guarantee the rights of foreign laborers and especially should protect the dignity and rights of female laborers. In the light of Pope John Paul II's concept of female body and concept of migrant, we conduct a reflection on the case of a foreign laborer in Taiwan, a female domestic helper. |
