中文摘要 | 警務工作是一種具有高度挑戰性、危險性與壓力的工作。多年來有關警察工作壓力之研究相當豐富,然而在量化背景下的工作壓力研究,雖然較嚴謹與客觀,惟大多借助於西方現有之工作壓力量表,其是否適用於我國基層員警及其是否可真正地衡量出他們的工作壓力來源,實值得吾人進一步探討。基於前述研究缺口,本文試圖以紮根理論,透過系統性的探索工作壓力過程、情境與行動反應之研究途徑,徹底並實地的瞭解基層員警之工作壓力來源。本研究採半結構式訪談,以先分層再隨機抽樣方式,選取了新北市警察局等四個警察機關,共計16位基層員警進行深度訪談,以形成訪談紀錄,並運用紮根理論進行資料蒐集與分析,透過開放編碼將289個壓力事件編碼成289個屬性,再經由主軸編碼過程形成17個「次類屬」,最後透過選擇編碼的過程,歸納精煉出組織結構層面、警察工作特性層面、工作與家庭衝突層面、個人因素層面、社會與組織契合層面,以及社會支援網絡層面等6項工作壓力來源「類屬」,並由其結果建構「基層警察人員之工作壓力模式」,以為建立工作壓力指數量表提供理論基礎,同時彌補現有警察人員工作壓力之研究缺口。 |
英文摘要 | Police work is very challenging, dangerous and stressful. There are quite a large number of studies examining police work stress, yet these quantitative studies, though rigorous and objective, relied on work stress scales veloped by the western world. As a result, it is questionable whether these foreign scales are suitable for first-line police officers in Taiwan and whether they can accurately assess the source of work stress of police officers in Taiwan. To close this gap, the aim of this study is to conduct a thorough, on-site investigation on first-line police officers’ source of work stress according to Ground Theory by adopting a systemic approach for exploring work stress process, scenarios, and behavioral responses. This study employed a semi-structured interview approach. Four police agencies, including New Taipei City Police agencies, were randomly selected from a hierarchically classified samples. From these selected police agencies, a total of 16 police officers were chosen for the study’s in-depth interview, and the content of their interviews was recorded. Ground Theory was adopted for data collection and analysis. The authors first used the open coding to code 289 stressful events into 289 conceptual coding. In the next step, these 289 conceptual coding went through the axial coding procedure and formed 17 sub-category coding. The 17 sub-category coding then went through the generic coding procedure of selecting coding, and six categories of work stress sources were extracted, which are: the structural dimension of the organization, the characteristic of the police work, work and family conflicts, personal reasons, social-organizational fit, and the social supporting network. Last but not the least, a indicative scale of work stress for basic police officers was built based on findings from these six categories. This model not only acts as a theoretical foundation for constructing a work stress scale but also helps in closing the gap in research on work stress of police officers. |
