英文摘要 | Many people have become interested in traditional Chinese medicinal liquors, which belong to the group of products termed integrated alcoholic beverages. They are believed when drunk to stimulate blood circulation, eliminate fatigue, enhance vigor and promote health. Traditional Chinese medicinal liquors have a long developmental history as part of the resources of traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicinal liquors are given in the form of special pharmaceutical doses and are treated in a manner that is directly related to the theoretical background of traditional Chinese medicine. In this context, traditional Chinese medicinal liquors have many functions such as modulating the five zang internal organs and six fu internal organs, maintaining a balance of yin and yang, supporting healthy trends, removing bad energy, and prolonging life. This study explores the preparation and efficacy of the traditional Chinese medicinal liquors via a literature review. The results tell us that there are two kinds of traditional Chinese medicinal liquor. One group consists of health-care medicinal liquors that benefit recuperation, beautify and prevents diseases. The other group consists of medicinal liquors that have specific efficacy against a particular syndrome. A small warm cup of traditional Chinese medicinal liquor is considered to benefit one's health. There are taboo areas with respect to these liquors involving the mixing of different type of traditional Chinese medicinal liquor and excessive consumption of traditional Chinese medicinal liquor. The reasons given for these taboos are decreased efficacy and the possibility of side effects. In spite of the fact that fermented alcoholic beverages were the major type of liquor available in ancient times, distilled liquors have become the type of major liquor in modern time because of improved flavor and taste. We conclude that traditional Chinese medicinal liquors possess not only practicability as medicines but research on them should be expanded based on their value as cultural assets and indigenous intellectual property. Traditional Chinese medicine, including traditional Chinese medicinal liquors, needs to be supported in this context by the government and by the academic community. We also hope that this study will support the development and production of traditional Chinese medicinal liquors into the future based on their efficacy, safety and inexpensiveness. |
