中文摘要 | 此篇文章探討80期83位新生的英文學習動機。包含之前研究61位80期新生,此篇研究加入22位80期新生。此篇研究結果與之前61位80期新生相互做比較。此篇研究顯示與英文為母語之講者的直接接觸得到最高平均數,instrumentality(學習英文所帶來的優勢)佔第二位,linguistic self-confidence (語言自我自信心)的動機佔第三位。這三個動機取向也與之前61位80期新生的結果前三名動機取向一樣,只是排行不相同,顯示此三個動機取向為83位80期新生最重視的。本文也對未來研究跟教學上的建議稍有著墨。 |
英文摘要 | According to various references, it is believed that students with high motivation to learn a foreign language tend to perform better than those with low motivation. In Chen’s (2008) first study, the results of 61 freshmen cadets’ orientations of motivation on English learning has been investigated. In this further study, there were extra 22 cadets joining in to the original 61 subjects. Therefore, in this study the total number of 83 cadets responded to the questionnaire, concerning seven motivation orientations. Again, this paper intends to investigate a larger amount of freshmen cadets’ orientations of motivation on English learning. The result showed that Direct contact with L2 speakers got the highest score. Instrumentality got the second highest score. Linguistic self-confidence occupied the third place. Implications and suggestion for further research and teaching are also suggested. |
