中文摘要 | 為何有些成人學習者能夠持續學習,而有些卻中途輟學?長久以來,學習動機研究已經做過不少這方面的討論,而晚近的研究以學習歷程的角度,觀察學習者如何在各種因素互動之下經歷學習,並進一步探討促成成功學習的因素在學習者心理層面的運作機制。在促成成功學習的因素之中,學習持續力是值得深入探討的主題,因為,具備高度學習持續力的學習者,必然比較容易順利完成學習目標。然而,什麼是學習持續力?持續力在學習歷程中扮演了什麼樣的角色?有哪些因素會影響學習的持續力?這些都是本文所探討的主題。 本文以遠距教育環境中的成人學習者為研究對象,探討成人學習持續力及其影響因素。研究者所蒐集的實徵資料包括有經驗的成人教師對於學習持續力的看法,以及空中大學的畢業生和輟學生的問卷與個別訪談內容。透過成人教師的觀點及空大畢業生、輟學生資料的比對,分析兩者學習歷程中學習持續力的影響因素。研究者透過實徵資料佐證論點,從而建構「成人學習歷程與學習持續力模式」,以供關心遠距教育及成人學習的同好參考。 |
英文摘要 | Why some of adult learners successfully accomplish their learning process while others drop out? This has been an important research subject in the field of adult learning. For a long time research on learning has been investigation this subject through learning barrier. Not until lately did some of adult and distance scholars start to pay attention to the phenomenon of how some of the adult students can push through the learning process even if they are in a disadvantaged situation. Thus, Learners Retention has become one of the important subjects to discuss in order the help us to understand how to assist learners. The main purpose of this paper is to discuss how adult learners persist through their learning as well as on factors that might have influences on them. Adult teachers and NOU students (including those who already graduated and those who dropped out) were interviewed and surveyed. Concluding from those data and content of interviews, this paper presents a model that describes adult learner's retention. |
