中文摘要 | 隨著時代的變遷及科技的日新月異,許多相關的研究不斷呼籲科學課程應該提供適切的科學知識及理解,以協助學生能夠閱讀與科學相關的報紙文章或報導,並且能與他人進行口頭的對話及文字的溝通。鑑此,本文將這些足以面對廿一世紀相關社會性科學議題(socio-scientific issue)的重要能力素質,分別區分成科學素養(scientific literacy)、媒體素養(media literacy)、閱讀素養(reading literary)及寫作素養(writing literacy)等四項不可或缺的能力。 據此,本文以科學新聞作為學習的媒介,設計以科學新聞讀寫為基礎的自然類通識課程-「科學、新聞與生活」課程。一方面嘗試建構一個能讓學生透過實際參與科學新聞寫作,並學習社會性科學議題內涵的教學方案;另一方面則希望培養學生成為一個主動認知與積極建構者,以期能進一步在現代社會的科技決策中扮演角色。 |
英文摘要 | With the rapid development of science and technology, there are many academic studies showed that science curriculums should provide appropriate scientific knowldege to help students to read and comprehend science and technology issues in news brief, and to carry on the dialogue and communication with the other people by oral or writing ways. Based on these viewpoints, one may say that scientific literacy, media literacy, reading literacy and writing literacy are four indispensable abilities to deal with socio-scientific issues in 21th century. According to the above, this paper tries to construct a general education course -"Science, News and Life"- by taking scientific news briefs as learning materials. In doing so, on the one hand it seeks a teaching plan to contribute to students' socio-scientific issues learning by means of science news writing, and the other hand it also hopes to foster students as active constructivists and participants might play large roles in the decision-making of modern society's technical policy. |
