中文摘要 | 本研究針對臺灣各大學目前推行通識教育的現況進行初步調查,發現臺灣現行的通識教育內容,至少存在三個主要的困境與瓶頸:大學理念逐步地功利化取向、缺乏真正的核心通識精神、及缺乏統整能力的進階培養。本研究從這些困境中提出理念上的澄清,並以美國的核心經典的通識教育為例,嘗試提出一套以經典學習為中心的核心課程方案,作為未來各大學推動通識教育的參考方向。 本方案的課程設計分為四個部份:一是「基本能力課程」,主要是培養學生做為一個現代公民所應具備的基本能力、技術及素養。這些能力是修習以下三類通識課程與專業課程的必要條件。他應在大一時修習;二是「核心課程」,培育學生的核心能力,也就是溝通素養、獨立思考、廣博視野與批判創新的能力。主要在大一、大二修習;三是「選修課程」,提供學生多樣化的選擇,讓學生依其意願自由選修,學生可以培養自己的興趣,亦可通向建立第二專長。可以在大二以上修習;四是「進階通識課程」,為高階的通識課程,主要是為學生修完核心課程後,為進一步深化思考及深入學習而設,原則上是為大三及大四的學生所開設。 透過本方案之實施,可預期的結果是:大學通是教育之實施,可視學生在不同年級之需求,設計不同之課程內容,使學生在大學四年的通識課程中,不但能對本身的「專業教育」深入體會,更能重新反省本身未來的發展方向。 |
英文摘要 | This study surveys the current schemes of general education adopted by colleges and universities in Taiwan. The preliminary result reveals that there are three main points that hamper the development of general education in Taiwan: the extremely utilitarian outlook on contemporary university education, the lack of essence of core curriculum, and the lack of advanced cultuvation of integration ability. In response to the founding, this study is devoted to clarify and illustrate the essence of core curriculum by relating American core curriculum based on classics. And this study also aims to provide a curriculum proposal with the core of classical learning for future reference in order to improve general education. There are four parts in the curriculum proposal: 1. The fundamental courses have the purpose to give students the capacity, skill, character to provide freshmen with a rigorous preparation not only for life as an intelligent citizen in today's complex and changing world but also for discipline courses and the following courses; 2. The core courses offer freshmen and sophomore students the core ability of communicating, thinking independently, having global perspective, and the ability fo critical analysis and innovation; 3. The elective courses are designed to acquaint students, who have already taken the freshmen courses, with a range of human knowledge and diverse methods to arrive at the truth. Students can be inspired to cultivate a hobby and to develop a second skill; 4. Advanced courses are designed for juniors and seniors, who have taken the core courses, to achieve the enhancement of learning and thinking skills at advanced levels. The proposed curriculum design and curricular practice procedure consider the different requirements for students in any specific year. Accordingly, students who complete the prescribed series of core courses designed in the curriculum proposal can be expected not only to comprehend their professional special education, but also to introspect afresh their future development. |
