中文摘要 | 隨著ADSL與有線電視數據機的推廣普及,現今寬頻服務已經與社會大眾的日常生活緊密結合。針對消費市場層出不窮的服務內容,業者也必須相對應地提昇網路服務的速率。光纖到家的技術對於頻寬的增加具有躍進式的成長,而且在傳輸距離上具有更大的彈性,成為目前網路發展的趨勢,目前世界各地正積極進行光纖到家的試用評估及商用服務。本文將比較世界各地目前光纖到家的案例,作為網路發展參考。由於PON相對於其他光纖網路架構有較多優點,最有機會取代銅纜接取網路,完成光纖到家的目標。在目前主流市場有三種PON技術,分別為APON、EPON與GPON,這三種技術各有優劣,端視業者需求而定。在評估PON網路的可行性時,如何在維持現有服務項目的前提下,使用戶感覺服務品質的提昇是首要條件,本文將有進一步論述。 |
英文摘要 | Accompanying the penetration of ADSL and Cable Modem, broadband services have closely concatenated daily living of the public nowadays. According to a variety of services content endlessly emerging from the consumers’ market, service providers also correspondingly have to improve the speed of services delivery on the network. Fiber-To-The-Home. FTTH, becomes a tendency to develop the access network in that the development of FTTH technologies facilitates the jumping-growth of the bandwidth on increment and there is more flexibility on the transmission distances as well. Currently, all over the world, there are many cases of enthusiastically carrying on investigating the field trials and providing commercial services for FTTH. PON has the best chance to replace copper access network to make the goal of FTTH reachable since it has comparatively more profits than other topologies of optical fiber network. In the current mainstream market, three are three PON technologies, APON, EPON, and GPON, each with its own merits and demerits. The selection among the three of PON technologies depends on the requirements of service providers. Under the premises of maintaining the legacy services, the improvement of QoS to subscribers is a prerequisite while estimating the feasibility of PON network. Finally, some excerpts extracted from the recent status of FTTH around the world are served as the reference of planning the future strategies. |
