中文摘要 | Gigabit等級的被動光網路如G-PON (ITU-T G.984 series)與GE-PON (IEEE 802.3ah)是當前FTTx建設最具代表性的光纖接取網路技術,目前已經被標準化和大量佈建。然而,隨著寬頻服務的快速發展,GPON與GE-PON將會面臨頻寬不足的問題,因此IEEE 803.3av與FSAN開始著手進行下世代PON網路的標準制訂,下世代的PON網路(NG-PON)必須可以提供比GPON/GE-PON更高的頻寬容量、更多分路比以及更大的接入覆蓋範圍,以因應家庭用戶與企業現在與未來的服務需求。其次,下世代的PON網路必須使得現有的GPON用戶可以與NG-PON用戶共存同一個PON光纖網路,一方面使得已鋪設的光纖網路得以充分利用,另一方面也使得GPON用戶可以平順地升級為NG-PON。 |
英文摘要 | Gigabit-class passive optical networks, such as G-PON (ITU-T G.984 series) and GE-PON (IEEE 802.3 ah), are the general representative of the FTTx access networks, which are now standardized and widely deployed. However, with the quick development of broadband services, the bandwidth of GEPON and GPON is not enough to support the future broadband applications. Therefore, IEEE 802.3 av and FSAN have started to design the next-generation PON network standards. PON technology in standard area has made great progress along with the rapid development of the broadband business. The most common requirements for a next-generation PON (NG-PON) are higher capacity, more split ratio and more overlay access distance than GPON and GE-PON. NG-PON is required to fully support current and future NGN-enabled services for residential subscribers and business customers through its broadband capability. Besides, NG-PON must allow the GPON subscribers coexist with the NG-PON subscribers and assume GPON as the base, and must allow subscribers to migrate gradually from Gigabit PON to NG-PON. |
