英文摘要 | The article attempts to inquire into the British scheme of “International School Award” (ISA) to understand its operational mechanism and functions. It is hoped that the understanding of the award scheme can shed light on the future development of Taiwan’s international education. In this article, document analysis is adopted to analyse related policy documents, the information provided on the websites, and related books, together with the reports of related studies. It is found that the ISA is structured with three awarding levels. There are three dimensions of reviewing criteria: curriculum integration, international exchange, and teachers’ professional development. The website of Schools Online is its operational platform. Generally speaking, the ISA has three functions: awarding and recognition, resource integration, and school guidance. Three suggestions are provided based on the findings: establishing a single comprehensive website as an international education platform, designing an international education award of different levels, and including nongovernmental resources in the implementation of international education. |
