中文摘要 | 近來教育界努力訓練網路英語教學種子教師,應用網路上豐富的資源讓英語學習環境更加互動有趣,引發學習動機,提高學習效果。然大多數的教師不免疑慮科技掛帥的英語教學為師生們帶來的效果將是如何?原本就不熟請電腦的英語教師難免對資訊科技視若畏途,並懷疑學生成績真能因此資訊科技而進步?為暸解老師在網路上提供的練習方便是否有效?或者不如紙上作業來得實際?本研究以教育部所推廣之Hot Potatoes等軟體為二專一年級學生量身訂作網頁練習並以二專一年級學生為受試對象進行研究。根據本研究結果,同樣內容的文法字彙練習題目在網頁上練習效果較好,在實驗一個學期之後上網練習的班級成績進步明顯大於紙筆練習的班級。實驗過程中遇到的困難包括設備軟硬體不足、網路塞車、研究團隊默契不足等。雖然設備不足對教師或對學生都是上網練習之最大阻礙,且資源分配之公平性為一大考驗。但即使如此,根據此案例看來,以Hot Potatoes製作之網頁練習雖有待改進之空間,上網練習之成效確實比傳統紙筆練習顯著。 |
英文摘要 | The MOE (Ministry of Education) of Taiwan has been promoting E-learning with a view to familiarize teachers and learners with the online resources and to motivate language learning. However, to make E-learning effective, English teachers have to not only become technologically adept to the technology needed for the E-classrooms, but they also need to know what technology brings to teaching and learning in the English classroom. For such reasons, the researchers developed a course website which employs the software promoted by the MOE, Hot Potatoes, and applied the website to two English classrooms, one as the experimental group, the other, control. The experimental group was informed to practice English on the website for duration of an academic semester. On the other hand, the control group practiced on traditional pencil and paper. Apart from other implications, the results reveal that the website learning group improves significantly more than the control group. |
