英文摘要 | We develop city-bus simulation software for bus systems that consist of several overlapping routes. This tool is useful for route design and related decisions. Decision makers can utilize it to predict how system performance measures would change if values of design parameters are twisted, and hence, to improve the system performance. The bus system considered is stochastic. The system uncertainty comes from the random passenger arrival times, random destination bus stops, and random bus travel times between stops. Theserandom behaviors should be considered in the simulation model to mimic the real system. We also design an easy-to-use input interface for users to key in numerous input data. After the simulation experiment is done,estimated values of system performance measures, such as the mean operation profit and mean passenger waiting time, are shown. Via this software, a bus system that benefits both owners and passengers may be designed. |
