中文摘要 | 本研究採用語音聲學的角度,比較二十個(男女各半)美國人與二十個(男女各半)成人英語學習者,所發出之英語母音,比較第一及第二共振峰,並且歸納出其不同之處。每個受試者所發出之母音皆量測及分析三次。結果顯示此外,成人英語學習者與美國人間,母音發音位置的高低前後,有明顯的不同。此外,本研究也比較台、英語中的四個長母音。結果顯示男性成人英語學習者,發英語的長母音時,受到台語的影響,比女性成人英語學習者來的大。男性學習者,發英語母音時,顯示出台語的負向移轉;而女性學習者所發的英語母音,其發音位置,正處於美國人的發音位置,及台語母音發音位置之間。最後,本研究更進一步提供成人英語教師,及成人英語學習者一些教學上的啟示,藉此來幫助成人英語學習者。 |
英文摘要 | This study presents an acoustic study of English vowel productions by 10 male and 10 female Taiwanese adult learners (TASs) of English and compares F1 and F2 values of ten English vowels pronounced by TASs and English native speakers (ENSs). Each speaker’s vowel sounds are recorded and measured three times. Results show that TASs and ENSs are different in vowel height and frontness. Moreover, four long vowels, which exist in both English and Taiwanese, are examined and contrasted. Results present that male TASs are more negatively influenced by Taiwanese long vowels than female TASs. Male TASs negatively transfer the places of articulation of Taiwanese vowels to the production of English vowels. Female TASs are in their interlanguage, which is located between English vowels and Taiwanese vowels. Pedagogical implications with the major finding are also provided in order for teachers to help TASs improve their pronunciation. |
