| 中文摘要 | 當前電子通訊科技發達,使得教育克服了以往時空的阻隔。網際網路打開了通往無限延伸的知識領域。學生不必出遠門即可收視數千里外的線上課程,獲得最新的資訊。電子視訊會議亦使位於不同國家地區的主持人與與會者同步討論事宜。教育界也感受到科技所帶來之衝擊而產生變革。電腦輔助教學、電腦管理教學、電腦輔助語言學習、多元媒體教學等等都是應運而生的教學應用。學校教學末來的角色勢必因此調整。 臺灣自民國九十一年一月正式成為「世界貿易組織」(WTO)的會員,與國際政治、經濟的互動將更為頻繁,因此,成為國際談判、跨文化溝通主要工具的外語能力訓練與養成也益形重要。以現今外語科系林立,專業師資及教學可運用資源不足,教育夥伴結盟、教學規劃應是當務之急。 本文首先析論科技發展對教育界的衝擊及如何運用科技於外語教學,其次,檢討過去三年來美和技術學院應用外語教育發展的作為,包括課程設計與評量。最後,就未來幾年發展網路教學系統草擬工作重點。 |
| 英文摘要 | Telecommunication has overcome temporal and spatial barriers in education. The Internet opens the door to the infinite domain of knowledge for users. Students can now get access to the online instruction in a remote area and get the most recent information. Teleconferencing enables participants all over the world to discuss issues without even leaving their countries. Education has also received substantial impact from technological advancements and has to readjust itself in terms of instructional methodology. Computer-assisted instruction, computer-managed instruction, computer-assisted language learning, multimedia instruction are applications from such transitions and transformations. Since Taiwan has officially become a member of the World Trade Organization as of January 2002, international interactions in politics and economics with other countries will grow intensively. Foreign language proficiency in international negotiations and cross-cultural communication becomes pivotal. An educational planning for consortium and partnerships will be sine qua non to address to the dearth of qualified faculty members as a result of recent expansion in the department of Applied Foreign Languages (AFL). This paper first discusses the technological impact upon education and feasible applications of technologies to foreign language education, then reviews the instructional practices in the past years and proposes guidelines for future projects for the Department of AFL at Mei Ho Institue of Technology. |
