英文摘要 | This study suggested using the Bayesian decision method to classify mastery levels for the Basic Achievement Tests given by the College Entrance Examination Center (CEEC). The Bayesian method takes into account raw score istributions as well as test reliability for decision making; the method also allows restricted quota of examinees passing a given mastery level by using a prespecified loss table or function. This study used the scores on the multiple-choice items in the 1998 Chinese and Natural Science Basic Achievement Tests as examples to illustrate the use of the Bayesian method for assigning mastery levels. The Bayesian method can also be generalized to classify mastery levels in adaptive tests. This study also used the optimal sequential rule to estimate the mastery levels at every stages of adaptive tests for the two Tests. |
