英文摘要 | Tea is a perennial and often cross-pollinated crop. The morphologicala characteristics of vegetative organs are affected by parent plants and environmental conditions. The purpose of this paper was attempted to use floral characters as a mean of identification and classification of tea varieties as well as an aid in selecting breeding material. Seventy-eight varieties of tea plants commonly raised in this Island were selected for this study by means of macro and micro-technigue methods. Its results may be summarized as follows: 1. The floral formula of tea plant was K5C6-7A240+17G(3) and the floral diagram was shown in Fig. 21. 2. Judging from the examination and measurement of morphological characteristics of tea flower namely, colour of pedical size of sepal, number of outer stamen, length of style and style arm and splitting percentage of style arm, it indicated that they were statistically significant between the chinese varieties (var. sinensis) and assam varieties (var assamica). (shown in table 8). 3. Some of the 78 varieties, which were not able to be differentiated from vegetative organs alone, were readily classified by their floral characters. 4. Because the morphological characteristics of different parts of the flower derived from the same variety were closely related as indicated by their correlation coefficients, it, thus, simplified the measurement of flower for identification purpose. It was shown that the measurements of one or two floral characters, i.e, the length of style and style arm; the number and length of outer stamen; or the size of inner petal was able to indicate the floral character between varieties (shown in table 3). 5. From the anatomical study of the floral parts, i.e. the cross-section structures of pendical, petal and ovary, it indicated that tea flower should be classified as cental placenta (shown in Fig 19) instead of parietal placenta which was shown by previous investigators. |
