英文摘要 | 1. In order to illustrate the pattern of variations induced by X-rays in rice, X? and X? strains were investigated with regard to heading date, plant hight, tiller number and other characters. In addition to this X? populations were also investigated regarding the same characters. 2. In X? populations, it was found that the range of variation in heading date was extended in X-rayed ones relative to that in non-treated plots. In plant height and tiller number such an extention of variation due to X-irradiation was not significant. 3. In the X? and X? generations, a majority of strains showed the same heading date as that in non-irradiated control, while a part of strains showed earlier or later heading dates. Significant parant-offspring correlations were found, which indicate that at least a portion of the variation found in X-rayed materials was heritable. Increase of the variance in X-rayed strains might be due to segregation of series differences induced by X-ray irradiation. 4. A large part of the strains showed plant height falling within the range of variation in non-irradiated control. Some strains were taller than the control, or dwarf. In the same matter as in heading date, it was a heritable. It is possible that some dwarf plants whose heading date is late and seed fertility is low, have deficiencies in chromosomes. 5. In panicle mumber, no significant difference was found between X-rayed and control plots, due to its large environmental variation. |
