中文摘要 | 關於孝的意涵,後世多循「善事父母」之義來解釋。《論語.為政》云:「今之 孝者,是謂能養,至於犬馬,皆能有養,不敬,何以別乎?」因而,對父母能養與敬,遂為 國人論孝之準則。然而從早期文獻與金文記載得知,孝之內容確與養、敬有關,然而行孝的 主體與對象卻與後世認知有絕大差異。本文由詩經中保留的資料觀之,得知當時的孝與宗廟 祭祀有密切關係,行孝的主體是君或宗子,行孝的對象是歷代祖考,孝行的表現不外祭享與 溯本,行孝的結果則是國祚長存,子孫永保用之。孝的意涵與政治制度實有密切關係,後世 移孝作忠的理想,不過是政治制度轉變後的另一種因應社會實際需求的呈現。 |
英文摘要 | The mostly traditional definition of Hsiao is to consider affection and respect for living parents. Nevertheless, according to the record of the former papers and chin-wen, the concept of Hsiao has absolutely different from the meaning of Hsiao as we define today. This article tries to define the concept of Hsiao through examining the relevant source materials in the Shih-ching, and find that the original Hsiao referred to ancestor worship. Only the king could express Hsiao; Hsiao was offered to the king's ancestors; the filial purpose was supposed to bring a stable and prosperous state. Thus the concept of Hsiao was related to the political principle. |
