英文摘要 | The major purpose of this study is 'to inquire the meaning of the orientation of paradox management and its applications to school changes. Paradox management has different orientations, including the either/or orientation and the both/and orientation. Of these two orientations, the latter, the both/and orientation manages well the contradictory activities in schools by inquiring their complementary and dynamic balances. In addition, such an orientation matches the philosophy of school changes. Therefore, the both/and orientation is of great significance in its applications to school change. Furthermore, according to the connotations of the both/and orientation of paradox management, the paper proposes three types of effective leadership in schools. They include leaders' openness, their participant problem-solving interactions, and their rational dialogue with others. These effective types of leadership serve to manage school paradoxes well. Finally, the study analyzes a case study as the empirical foundation. |
