英文摘要 | This paper examines strengths of Taiwan satellite TV channels, by which competitors settle a growing pressure arising from communication market structure and technology. While the current debate has focused almost on whether Taiwan satellite TV channels should be integrated, a more important question is how to ensure the establishment of competitive in the various Chinese markets for satellite TV services, including local access. This study concludes that the focus on strategies of satellite TV should have four points: (1) Taiwan satellite TV programs should adopt a "localization" design; (2) the priority of competitive markets suggests three areas: Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China; (3) Taiwan government should adopt a deregulation policy, including opening foreign investment in telecommunication markets; (4) for near future, Media Park of Asian Media Center should continue developing. These findings from the study highlight the differences in these different markets and provide useful insights’ for strategies in satellite TV firms and government policy makers. |
