英文摘要 | After the wide application of aluminum in the industry, steel is once again confronting a strong threat of being substituted by aluminum and plastics in the auto market. In order to keep steel being the dominant material in this market, a series of Ultra Light Steel Auto projects is conducted by International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI) accordingly. This series of projects is meant to change people's traditional impression that steel is heavy and to correct the fallacy that it is impossible to make lightweight automobiles by the use of steel only. This paper begins with a brief introduction to these innovative projects in which the developments of these projects are stated. It is followed by a general description of the procedures, technology and materials used in these projects. Finally, some results of these projects are given. The methods for technical transfer from these projects to the car industry are also included in the final section of this article. |
