英文摘要 | Being a new protocol proposed for wireless communications, Packet Reservation Multiple Access (PRMA) has recently received extensive attention. In this paper, a variant of PRMA, called Non-Collision PRMA (NC-PRMA), is introduced. In NC-PRMA, the contention scheme for making reservations used in PRMA is replaced by a time-frequency signaling scheme. While the NC-PRMA is mainly proposed for voice terminals, it can involve data packets as well. Simulation results show that, for the case with voice terminals only, in additional to overcoming the potentially unstable problem encountered in PRMA, NC-PRMA also achieves higher user capacity than PRMA without perfect capture mechanism and has the same user capacity as PRMA with perfect capture. Furthermore, it also shows that even though the NC-PRMA operates at its maximum capacity for voice terminals, i.e., 38 terminals for our system parameters, additional 13 data terminals each with an average bit rate of 1200 b/s can be supported without any degradation in voice performance. |
