英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to assess the microleakage of composite resin in Class V cavities which was prepared by air-abrasion with and without acid etching or mechanically with a bur and acid etching. Forty-five extracted molar teeth were selected, cleaned with pumice powder, washed, and assigned to three groups of 15 teeth each. A Class V cavity 4.0 ± 0.5 mm in length, 3.0 ± 0.5 mm in width,1.5 ± 0.5 mm in depth was prepared on the buccal aspect of extracted molar so that half of the cavity preparation was above the C-E junction and half below with bur method in group A and with Kcp 1000 in Group B and Group C. A bevel was prepared on the occlusal wall in group A. In group A and Group B the cavities were etched for 15 seconds with maleic acid prior to restoration with Scothbond Multi-porpose, Z100 composite resin. In Group C, the cavities were restored with Scothbond Multi-purpose, Z 100 composite resin without etching. All of these specimens were immersed in 0.5% basic fushin dye for 36 hours after thermocycling at 5 ± 2 ℃ and 55 ± 2 ℃ 100 times, then sectioned in a faciolingual direction through the center of the restoration. The results showed that there was no singnificant difference of microleakage on occlusal wall and gingival wall between Group A and Group B (p ≦ 0.05). Group C showed lesser microleakage on both occlusal and gingival walls than did Group A and Group B (p ≦ 0.05). |
