英文摘要 | The Mazhan Basin is bounded by the main faults F�� and F�� of the Tan-Lu Fault Zone (TLF). It is an elongated basin of more than 60 km in length and 8 km in the maximum width. This Basin was filled by typical fan-lake sediments of the Upper Cretaceous Wangshi Group. On the basis of detailed mapping of lithofacies and key beds of tuff layers in the Basin, the filled sediments are classified into three lithofacies: conglomerate, sandstone and siltstone facies. They constitute a contemporaneous sedimentary system resulted from lateral facies change, showing a northwardyounging stratigraphic sequence. This indicates that the depocenter of the Basin has migrated northward parallel to the main faults. A systematic change of pebble composition along the eastern margin of the Mazhan Basin is recognized. Decrease of volcanic pebbles and increase of limestone and granitoid are observed from south to north along the above-mentioned margin. The younging of the conglomerate strata and the systematic variation of pebble component is considered to be related to the migration of the fan-lake system associated with a sinistral strikeslip movement of the bounding F �� fault and progressive basement exhumation. |
