英文摘要 | Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) system has been used for collecting traffic weigh data and prescreening the overloaded vehicles for years. However, the specification of WIM used for law enforcement has not been developed for high speed operating condition. In this study, three relationships are derived: (1) relationship between WIM's detecting rate and percent reduction of pavement design life; (2) relationship between WIM's detecting rate and assigned threshold values of WIM for fining the overloaded vehicles, and (3) relationship among the precision, misjudging rate, and assigned threshold values of any given WIM system. By controlling the maximum allowable WIM misjudging rate and the percent reduction of pavement design life, users can determine the minimum required precision and the appropriate threshold values of WIM for law enforcement through the above derived relationships. Results can be used to overcome the shortcoming of WIM's less precision while operating in high speed condition. |
