英文摘要 | This article summarize the achievements made in the last two years by the Dou-Liu Paper Mill of Pao-Long International especially in process waste minimization and improvement of effluent treatment. In the waste minimization area, daily effluent discharge reduced from 10,000m �� to 8,000m ��, unit product average effluent discharge lowered from 60m �� /ton paper reduced to 40m �� /ton paper. Average electricity consumption also reduced from 850KWH/ton paper to 800KWH/ton paper; and average unit fuel oil use decreased from 0.2m �� to 0.15m �� per ton paper. In effluent treatment, based on the planning and suggestions made by the Industrial Pollution Abatement Advisory Group of Taiwan and several engineering firms; taken into considerations the actual demands of the mill as well, an active biological trick-ling filter (ABF) system by the SANEI Inc. of Japan was selected as a secondary treatment addition to the original process. Since the planning, construction and operation of the new facilities all went well, despite the fact that waste minimization efforts have elevated effluent pollution loading, including suspended solid (SS) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) from 750mg/L and 700mg/L, respectively, both to about 1000ppm, the treated effluent can still maintain a SS value of 20 mg/L and COD of 60 mg/L or lower. These are far lower than EPA's new 1998 regulation allows for. In future, the effort will be directed toward resource reuse. |
