英文摘要 | This paper presents the result of a group depth interview on the use of washing machines. The aim of the study is to explore the hypothesis that communicationi gaps exist between washing machines and their users. The main findings include: 1) the market for washing machines seemed to be very competitive in the UK, 2) some washing machines are difficult to use. 3) the causes of difficulty include: too many programmes, poor graphics and mismatching with users' expectations. 4) factors for selecting a washing machine include: reliability, price, ease of use, time consumed, capacity, colour, advertising, reputation, service and appearance. Some interviewees were found to have a nostalgia feeling for top-loaders though it was not to fit for a modern bench-fitted kitchen. |
