英文摘要 | This research studied the effects of formal vocabulary to the ease of use in product design. Based upon Gibson's theory of 'affordances', the research attempted to find out, to what extent, that the form of an object could tell the user how to use it. The research used a "think aloud" technique to collect respondents" visual perceptions to the forms of the tested objects. The data were subjected to content analysis. The results include: 1) the respondents' perceptions to the tested objects seem to be influenced by their past experience, 2) the affordances of the objects, including shape, size and texture, might have informed the respondents how to use them. |
