英文摘要 | By combining the performance (H-Q) curve of a pump, orifice sizing, ideal gas equation and continuity equationn, the variation of gas and water flow of a start-up pumping system have been numerically analysed. Both effects of the distance of a check valve to the water level and the distance of a check valve to the orifice (air release location) play an important rolein the airwater mixture during the start-up of a pumping system. In addition, the sizing of the orifice or air release vavie is also an i mportant rolein the hydraulic transients (water hammer) problem. The present study shows the actual variation of air-water flow and pressure during the start-up of the pumping system. It provides the engineering consultants a reference to select suitable pumps, air valves and the check valves in the pumping system in order to increase the energy efficiency and reduce the maintenance costs of pumping system. |
