英文摘要 | Compared with Apollo-11 moon landing mission, any deep-sea operations are not easier tasks either, because deep-sea operations need to face the threatening and uncertainties resulting from strong current and high pressure. Therefore although human beings have successfully landed on the moon decades ago, on the other hand, we have only explored a small fraction of the ocean basin. So the deep ocean is also known as our "inner space". Previously, divers carried out most of the deep-sea exploration, but the decompression is always barrier preventing diving technology from going deeper. In order to keep human lives away from this risky environment and cut down the cost of deep-sea operations, ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) equipped with robot manipulators has been widely used to substitute human divers. This article gives a brief introduction to the ROV system and the associated technical challenges. |
