英文摘要 | Objective: We investigated the changes in maternal plasma levels of lipids, lipoproteins, and apoproteins before and after delivery in Taiwanese women. Methods: Fasting blood samples of 72 pregnant women were collected to analyze the changes of lipid profiles during pregnancy and postpartum. Sixteen nonpregnant volunteers with similar age were recruited as control. The inter-relationship of maternal lipids before and after delivery and the correlation between infant birth weight and maternal lipid concentrations were analyzed. Results: Plasma triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol, very low density lipoprotein-triglyceride (VLDL-TG), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), apoprotein (apo) A□, and apo B concentrations were elevated during late pregnancy. At 6 weeks postpartum all the measured concentrations in plasma returned to levels similar to those of the control group. There was an inverse correlation between plasma TG and HDL-C concentrations in late pregnancy. This correlation was also seen between plasma TG and both HDL-C and apo A□ concentrations at 6 weeks postpartum. Pregnancy weight gain had no correlation with maternal plasma TG levels and an infant's birth weight, nor was there any association observed between an infant's birth weight and maternal concentrations of lipids and lipoproteins. Conclusion: The findings suggest that pregnancy weight gain is not a predictor of the level of maternal plasma TG in late pregnancy, and an infant's birth weight is independent of maternal weight gain and plasma lipid levels before and after delivery. |
