英文摘要 | Shipping is a global service industry, and its offerings tend to be viewed much homogeneously by its customers. Especially, in a competitive market, carriers' strategies are easy to be replaced by their competitors. Thus, in order to gain a competitive advantage, it is essential to assess the competitiors' strategies. This paper uses the analytical concepts of strategic groups theory to explore the strategic difference in the Taiwanese (the Republic of China, ROC) shipping industry. Cluster analysis was used to classify those shipping companies and shipping agencies into four strategic groups on the basis of the key strategic factors obtained from the factor analysis. The results of multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Scheffe test showed that strategies among the strategic groups are significantly different. |
