英文摘要 | Like the Spreading weatward of its four great inventions, i,e., gunpowder, printing, compass, and paper currency, China's maritime trade too had its great impact on the outside wourld. According to my preliminary reseauch, in the late Ming and the early Qing Ching established direct maritime trade with Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and Western Europe. In addition, the network of indirect trade convered almost the entire world and consituted a dynamic world trade system. In other words, China's maritime trade strengthened navigable communications between Chinese and the rest of the world. Cultural and technical interchanges were promoted, which greatly influenced these countries. Moreover, the system of international trade and world market enhanced the process of the commerical revolution in Western Europe, speeded up the economic development of capitalism's world,as well as effected the shock of world crisis. While some research has been done in the field of maritime trade in the late Ming and early Qing period, this study is an attempt to investigate the Anglo-Chinese trade as case study. The study focuses geographically on China's indirect and direct maritime trade with England, covering the years between 1600 and 1793, a period of more than 193 years. The process of Anglo-Chinese trade is divided into five stages; they are Anglo-Chinese indirect trade period (1600-1636), Anglo-Chinese direct trade in the late Ming and early Qing period (1637-1683),Anglo-Chinese direct trade after lifting of ban (1684-1714), Anglo-Chinese direct trade after the establishment of facories (1715-1756) , and mono-part trade period (1757-1793). The last part evaluates the contributions of the Anglo-Chinese trade and analyses its management. |
