英文摘要 | This paper is focused on the vortex characteristics of jets in swirling cross flows, and their mixing processes with the cross flow. It is confirmed in the experiments that the penetration depth of transverse jets can be substantially enhanced in a swirling flow, provided that the injection ports are properly arranged. The mixing process in a swirling cross flow is dominated by the cross-stream momentum generated by the main stream, while the jet-to-stream momentum ratio plays a relatively in-sensitive role compared with the counterpart in a parallel flow field. This kind of large-scale vortices is efficient for mixing the jets with the cross flow, and is expected to have a great potential in various industrial applications. |
