中文摘要 | 現今,由於視訊壓縮技術的進步、標準化的完成、人們的需求、以及成本的降低, 人們經由公眾網路在講電話的同時又可看到對方影像已不再是夢想。由於 ISDN 為一公眾網 路且使用原傳統電話網路 -PSTN 之雙絞線,使得視訊電話不再昂貴而遙不可及。 甚至於商 業界對多點視訊會議的需求亦快速成長。吾人欲經由 ISDN 公眾網路作連接兩點以上的視訊 會議時必須使用一多點視訊會議控制器,但是含日多點視訊會議控制器之價格卻是非常昂貴 ,因此發展一廉價之視訊電話╱視訊會議個人電腦附加卡且具備多點視訊會議控制器之主要 功能實深具意義。 此視訊電話╱會議終端機符合 H.320 國際標準且其頻寬支援 64kbps 到 384 kbps。當它在多點模式下,也可扮演伺服器端去控制整個會議的進行,此時其基本設定 為支援四個分別以 128 kbps 連線之不同端點 -- 一個伺服器端及三個客戶端 -- 或者支援 七個分別以 64 kbps 連線之不同端點。此處所連接之客戶端僅需標準之 H.320 視訊終端機 即可。亦可經由插上多片 ISDN 卡而支援更多之不同端點。此報告中將描述如此一個系統之 硬體設計。 |
英文摘要 | Nowadays, because of the progress of video compression technique, the completion of standardization, the demand of people, and the decreasing of cost, people talk and see each other simultaneously through the public network is not a dream. Since ISDN is a public digital network and uses the PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network) original twisted pair lines, video-phone is not a luxurious device any longer. Even more, the demands of the multipoint video-conference also dramatically increase for the business companies. when people try to connect more than two sites to perform a video conference via the ISDN public network, a special device named MCU (Multipoint Control Unit) is needed. But the price of MCU is quite high now, and it's inconvenient for emergent need if you rent the using time. So, the development of an inexpensive PC base video-phone/video-conference terminal including the main functions of MCU is meaningful. This terminal bases on the ISDN video-phone/video-conference standard H.320 and its communication bandwidth can support from 64kbps up to 384kbps. It also can be the server side to control the video-conference when running in the multipoint mode. In this mode, its basic configuration supports video - conference for four different sites - one server, and 3 clients - with 128kbps each, or seven different sites with 64kbps each. Clients are the standard H.320 video terminals. By adding more ISDN cards, this system can support more sites. In this report, we describe how to design the hardware circuits of such a system. |
